Scrapbooking with Skulls!

I must say, I just haven’t been too into the whole trend with skulls. They are not “me”! I like pretty, girly things. However, I did just discover a use for skulls in my scrapbooking layouts. My landlord recently fumigated our place and the poison has been making us positively ill. AHA! I’m thinking maybe there is a potential spot to stick a few skulls into my pages…well…then again…not sure I want to even scrapbook about the fumigation.

So how about you ~ are there skulls on your pages and projects? How are you using them?

Scrapbooking Layout? Self Portrait? Or Postmodern Spin Art?

Supplies:
Patterned Papers:
Background paper is Aged Florals: Beloved by Fancy Pants. Paper on top is Fancy Free Collection: Sun and Sea by Fancy Pants
Stamps: Alpha Chic set by Fancy Pants.
Inks: Distress Inks by Tim Holz/ Ranger & Luma Brilliant Concentrated Watercolors
Chalks: Craf-T Products
Spin art painting is by Amy Solovay.

I have seen it debated endlessly whether scrapbooking is art or craft. I think this layout makes a pretty good case for the “art” argument. While it has the attributes typically attributed to a scrapbooking layout (text/journaling, photo, background of 12″ x 12″ patterned paper) it would certainly pass for a both a self portrait and also a collage.
